tennis instruction

Hello,
this week we have been making instructions for a skill or sport from a chosen country. Enjoy Things you need

-racket
-court
-opponent

Rules
- you can not stand over the baseline when your serving but you can jump over it.
-You can not double hit the ball.
-You can not play the ball once it has gone out.
- If the bounces on the line no matter how slightly it is it must be called in.
- You can not touch the net at anytime during a rally or else your opponent gets the point.
-You can not let the ball bounce twice.
Even if the ball is going out you have to leave it until it has touched the ground or else its the other person's point.

Tennis is played between two players, this is called singles or two teams of two players, four in all, this is called doubles. Play starts when the player whose turn it is to serve attempts to hit a ball into the opposite small box at the front of the court. If the opponent hits the ball back into your court the Play will then continue, This phase is called a rally. This rally will continue until either the ball lands out of play or hits the net without managing to land on the opponent's side or bounces twice before a player can hit it . Another rule is that you can’t double hit the ball. The point is won by either player who does not do any of these things. Point are played to Three  sets of six games. A game is four points won but you have to win by two points

School camp

Hello, this week we had school camp and we stayed at Powell village in Wainui. We did lots of activities like archery, coasteering and high ropes.

A challenge for me on camp was probably high ropes because I am not much of a climber and it pushed me out of my comfort zone. I was one block away from the top but not tall enough to get up to the top but I still enjoyed it.

My favourite activity was coasteering because we got to jump off rocks and swim in the water even though it was freezing cold cold. Although we didn't get to jump off the biggest rock I still really enjoyed the experience and would love to do it again.

Something that I learnt from camp was how to belay on the high ropes course. It was very easy but you have to have a lot of concentration because you are keep someone from falling and badly hurting them selves or you.

What I am grateful for this camp was be able to spend time with my friend on camp and doing new activities on camp. I am also grateful for the people who organised the camp and help run it.
